2012 January

Under The Sun in Grand Cayman

January 10, 2012 in What's Cooking by Le Creuset

Le Creuset is proud to be part of so many culinary events that feature incredibly talented chefs from around the globe. Earlier this month we were official cookware sponsor of the 2012 Cayman Cookout, the Caribbean’s premier epicurean event and one of the best opportunities all year to enjoy the talents of so many award-winning chefs and beverage experts in one place. But not just any place — The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman!

This year, we were particularly impressed by two special events that featured Le Creuset very prominently. First, American Beef, French Style, Bourdain Attitude at 7 Restaurant starred No Reservations host, best-selling author and former Les Halles executive chef Anthony Bourdain. This exclusive lunch event came complete with plenty of stories from his days in the kitchens of some of New York’s finest restaurants, as well as his time spent traveling around the world.

Later, guests experienced A Journey to Château de Saran, presented by Le Creuset in conjunction with Bon Vivant at Camana Bay. This intimate evening recreated an unforgettable dinner at the Moët family castle in the Champagne region of France. Headlining this was Chef Pascal Tingaud, Maître Cuisinier de France and Chef de Cuisine for Dom Pérignon at The Domaine Moët & Chandon, who presented a unique menu both inspired by and paired with the estate’s world-famous wines.

Proud to go “Whole Hog” with Cochon 555 in 2012

January 10, 2012 in What's Cooking by Le Creuset

As the official cookware partner of Cochon 555, Le Creuset is not only proud to support the cause of sustainable agriculture and whole animal utilization, we’re also excited to be part of such an outstanding — and fun! — culinary experience. Beginning this January, Cochon 555 will once again criss-cross the country on a 10-city tour, bringing its unique brand of competitions, tastings and “snout-to-tail” menus using heritage breed pigs.

Back by popular demand, Le Creuset is once again presenting a special five-ingredient challenge at each Cochon 555 event in 2012. One of the event’s featured chefs will create a dish in a Le Creuset Goose Pot using just five secret ingredients, and the audience will have an opportunity to taste for themselves and guess what went into the dish — all for a chance to win prizes from Le Creuset!

Prior to the first event of the year in New York City on January 22, Cochon 555 will host a special celebration at the James Beard House on January 20. As always, we’re honored to be included in such an impressive lineup of chefs, winemakers, producers and sponsors, and we can’t wait to see you out on the road this year!
